Everything you need to know about buying maternity clothing from Mrs Smith Maternity
Customers submitting a purchase order for maternity clothes agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions. The following terms and conditions supersede any previous terms and conditions and Mrs Smith Maternity reserves the right to make changes to the website, our range of maternity clothes and this document at anytime.
Acceptance of Goods
The customer is responsible for inspecting maternity clothes and breastfeeding clothes for faults or damage and must notify Mrs Smith Maternity. Faulty products which are immediately returned will be exchanged or refunded. See Returns Policy below for terms of other returns.
Free NZ Delivery on orders over $100.00
We offer free delivery on New Zealand orders that are over $100.00. NZ orders that are under the $100 threshold will be charged $6.00 shipping. For orders over $100.00 if you return the whole order for a refund we will deduct $6.00 shipping fee from your refund. If you return pat of the order taking your order to below the threshold we may also deduct the shipping fee. Your fist exchange is free. However freight is a significant cost for us so we ask that when the customer is making an exchange for the second time of $6.00 for standard delivery and $7.50 for rural deliveries. This does not include cases where the product is found to be faulty.
For Australian orders we charge a $15.00 shipping fee and $20.00 for other international orders.
We want you to be happy with your maternity clothes purchase and we understand the problems with making online purchases. If you are unhappy with your purchase for any reason you can return it to us within the 30 days after the web purchase date for a refund of the purchase price of a full priced item (this does not include a small freight cost) if the item is returned in its original condition including the original packaging and tags still attached. Please Note: If the item has been purchased while it is on sale or using a discount code that is over a 10% discount you can return it but we offer a store credit not a refund. Under the fair trading act we are not required to give a customer a refund because they change their mind or no longer need the item. Many online businesses do not allow you to return items purchased on sale at all. We do but we give you a credit note that is valid for six month and is transferable to a friend or relative.
Returned items must be unworn with the tags still attached and in its original packaging. We will not accept liability for items being returned which are lost during the return journey to our warehouse.
Return of Sale Items
Many of our competitors will not accept the return of sale goods but understand they are often not right. So by of compromise we accept their return and we will give you a store credit valid for six months.
Refunds – As stated above while we offer fee shipping to our customers because we see it as a small price to pay to make a sale of our maternity clothes. For purchases made using discounts or vouchers, the total refunded will only be the amount paid not the total product price. After 30 days returns and refunds are subject to manufacturers warranty.
If the goods you receive are faulty, we will replace those goods if the problem is caused by a fault in the product not general wear and tear. As per our obligation under the consumer guarantees act. Reimbursement for shipping expenses for faulty will be up to the value of the original quoted shipping cost.
Exchanges – Due the significant costs of freight we do ask that when the customer is making a second exchange they pay a small fee of $6.00 for standard delivery and $7.50 for rural deliveries. This does not include cases where the product is found to be faulty.
To return an item please send us an email so that we know to expect the item. We would greatly appreciate it if you could let us know why you are returning the item as your feedback is important to us. We can use your feedback to refine our products in the future.

The privacy of your customer data, orders and credit cards is important to us. Information is collected at the time of sale in order to complete the sale and deliver the items to you.
We will not disclose or sell your customer data to any third party. Credit card details are not stored anywhere on our servers nor in our premises. Your credit card details are processed in real time by an independent payment gateway authorised by our bank, using secure encryption. Your details will remain confidential.
We also gather information (your name and email address) if you request to join our newsletter. We send out newsletters to all our customers weekly, with notification of new products or specials. In all our newsletters we give you the option to remove your
name from our files.
As you browse our website, advertising cookies may be placed on your computer so that we can understand what you are interested in. Our display advertising partner, AdRoll, then enables us to present you with retargeting advertising on other sites based on your previous interaction with us (which we hope will remind you about our business). This only happens for customers that have already visited our site. The techniques our partners employ do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, postal address or telephone number. You can visit this page to opt out of AdRoll and their partners’ targeted advertising.
Delivery within New Zealand
We will process your order within 2 business days following payment in cleared funds. Payment by online banking cannot be checked until the next business day. We will send you an email notifying you when your order has been shipped. Please allow up to 5 days for delivery domestically. Our products will be freighted by a courier company and will require a signature upon delivery. Orders which include items that are back ordered may take longer than the standard 5 days and will not be shipped until all items are available for shipping.
Mrs Smith Maternity is happy to ship items to most destinations around the world. We deliver via Air mail and items should arrive within 10 days to Australia and from 10 to 30 days to other parts of the world. Unfortunately we can not accept responsibility for customs delays, duties or taxes that may apply. International customers will need to check with their local customs office in regard to what, if any, duty you may be liable for when the order arrives. Delivery to Australia incurs a fee of $15.00 NZD and delivery to the US, UK, Europe and Asia incurs a fee of $20.00 NZD.
The following is an approximate guide to our sizing. The measurements stated are the body measurements during pregnancy not the garment measurements. However many of our styles are designed to be loose fitting so will be significantly larger than the size measurements. We have not included the waist measurements because your waist will be in a constant state of change. We endeavour to retain consistancy of sizing across our styles however the different behaviour of different fabrics does make it difficult. So if you would like to exchange or return your purchase due to sizing issues we will be happy to honour request as long as the item is returned in accordance witht the returns policy stated above.

Please do not dispair if you do not fit into our standard sizing. We can make garments up in larger sizes in some styles for an additional cost. Please go to our contact us page and email your enquiry to us stating the style and the size you think you need or your measurements. There will be some times that the fabric for sale on the site is no longer available however we will endeavour to suggest a suitable alternative.
We are happy to offer laybuys on some styles. To organise a layby please email us on [email protected] Laybuys require a 30% deposit and must be paid off over 4 weeks.
Mrs Smith Maternity reserves the right to change prices without notice. All prices and orders are displayed and processed in New Zealand Dollars.
Orders may only be cancelled if the item has not been shipped when the cancellation has been requested. Please email [email protected] if you wish to cancel an order.
We endeavour to accurately represent all colours offered on our website. However we can not control the variation that may be caused by different PC monitors. We are happy to refund purchases for customers who are dissatisfied with the colour as long as they are returned in accordance with the returns procedure above.
In the event that an item is listed at an incorrect price or incorrect information, Mrs Smith Maternity reserves the right to refuse or cancel orders. Mrs Smith Maternity will make all reasonable effort to contact the customer using the details provided and all received monies will be refunded.
